Who is James Blonde? The answer is not a person, but the singular identity of an Alt-Rock/Pop trio comprised of Neil Carson, Phil Taylor and Steph Mercier. The new identity came to be in late 2016 when the trio, (formerly known as Xprime) finished recording their first LP. The music was new, exciting and more defined. Through the previous years’ heavy touring and time spent together writing, the band became like an individual; a being that is more than just the sum of its parts. The trio then decided to find a name suitable for the new defined identity they shared: James Blonde.
The Niagara Falls based alt-rock outfit we’ve come to know as James Blonde has spent the last few years touring the country under their old moniker and have made major festival appearances at Osheaga, Edgefest, CMW and Burlington Sound of Music. Opening for the likes of Weezer, Sam Roberts Band, Serena Ryder, The Arkells, Keith Urban and Lights. The band's debut (self titled) LP is slated to release August 21st, 2017 with a Canada-wide tour planned for this Fall.
“Already, Already” is the result of years of collaboration between musicians Bradley Young and Will Languedoc. The duo, with Bradley on saxophone & synthesizers and Will on guitar, aim to push the boundaries of live looping. They combine elements of jazz, electronic, and experimental music into a wild cacophony of sounds and blinking lights. With every show being different from the last in the zero-margin-for-error nature of looping and sequencing. Come check out this memorable act.
Free clinic at the Long & McQuade in Kanata on March 14th at 6:30PM. Join Bradley of Already, Already, as he takes you through the basics of loop stations and live looping. Looking to add depth to your live shows? Improve your songwriting process? Or just make jamming on your own a little more engaging? All this and more will be revealed at this free clinic "Looping Fiasco with Bradley Young". See you there!
